Directions to the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum

Public Transportation:
Take the Green Line E train outbound or No. 39 bus to the Museum of Fine Arts stop. Cross Huntington Avenue on your right onto Louis Prang Street. Walk down Louis Prang Street for two blocks. The Museum is on the left.

From South of Boston:
Take Route 93 North to Massachusetts Avenue exit (exit is from the right lane only). Continue straight at end of exit ramp onto Melnea Cass Boulevard. Follow Melnea Cass Boulevard to Tremont Street. At Tremont Street turn left and follow to next intersection. At this intersection turn right onto Ruggles Street. Continue on Ruggles Street, crossing Huntington Avenue (crossing over subway tracks). The Museum is two blocks down on your left.

To park at the Museum of Fine Arts garage or surface lot, turn right at the first set of lights after crossing Huntington Avenue. Continue straight behind the Museum of Fine Arts, turning right onto Forsyth Way. Take a right at the light onto Huntington Avenue. Continue on Huntington Avenue in front of the Museum of Fine Arts, taking the first right (a block before the next light) onto Museum Road. The garage is on the left side of the street and the surface lot entrance is on the right.

From North of Boston:
Take the Storrow Drive exit from Route 93 South (exit from right lane). Follow ramp signs to Storrow Drive. Follow Storrow Drive to the Fenway/Kenmore exit (exit from the left lane). Stay to the left (Fenway) at the exit ramp fork. Turn right onto Boylston Street at the lights at the end of the ramp. Continue on Boylston Street for approximately 1/2 mile until you arrive at the intersection of Boylston Street and Park Drive. Bear right onto Park Drive, do not take a sharp right onto Brookline Avenue. Merge into the left hand lane, taking first left that takes you around a parking lot (you've just made a U-turn). Cross Brookline Avenue onto The Fenway. Continue past Emmanuel College and Simmons College on your right. The Museum is the next building on your right after Simmons College.

To park at the Museum of Fine Arts garage or surface lot, continue past the Museum bearing to the left at the first light. Continue straight behind the Museum of Fine Arts, turning right onto Forsyth Way. Take a right at the light onto Huntington Avenue. Continue on Huntington Avenue in front of the Museum of Fine Arts, taking the first right (a block before the next light) onto Museum Road. The garage entrance is on the left side of the street and the surface lot entrance is on the right.

From West of Boston:
Take the Mass Pike eastbound to exit 22. Once on the off ramp choose the Prudential Center exit; this exit will put you right on Huntington Avenue traveling west. Stay on Huntington Avenue (you will pass Symphony Hall, Northeastern University, and the Museum of Fine Arts). Turn right onto Louis Prang Street (the Museum of Fine Arts subway stop is on your left at this corner). The Museum is on the left two blocks down.

To park at the Museum of Fine Arts garage or surface lot, turn off Huntington Avenue one block before Louis Prang onto Museum Road. The garage entrance is on the left side of the street and the surface lot entrance is on the right.

From Cambridge:
Take Massachusetts Avenue towards Boston. Cross the Charles River. Follow Massachusetts Avenue to Huntington Avenue (Symphony Hall will be on the right). Turn right. Follow Huntington Avenue to Louis Prang (you will pass Northeastern University and the Museum of Fine Arts). Turn right and continue for two blocks. The Museum is on the left.

To park at the Museum of Fine Arts garage or surface lot, turn off Huntington Avenue one block before Louis Prang onto Museum Road. The garage entrance is on the left side of the street and the surface lot entrance is on the right.

From Boston:
Take Huntington Avenue westbound past the Museum of Fine Arts. Turn right onto Louis Prang Street (the Museum of Fine Arts subway stop is on your left at this corner). The Museum is on the left two blocks down.
